Pages are read from the top down, instead of from side to side. This is because they are laid out in a unique three-column format designed to guide
information and instructions toward the hemisphere for which each are
intended, while whimsical graphic images further engage the right-brain (which is normally less utilized for reading than the left-brain).
In addition, unlike a traditional textbook — where important ideas often lie buried in the solid rock of uninterrupted text — the concepts which are presented in "Song Without Words" float like islands in a sea of white space, where each one can be easily recognized and appreciated.
Still, while viewing this example, it's important to remember that although it clearly demonstrates the form in which the book is presented, a single page can in no way illustrate the powerful cumulative effect that its unique form exerts on the reader over the course of the entire book.
